Boy bands are back!
Summer Mixtape Festival: 98 Degrees will be reuniting for the first time in over a decade! Were very excited about the opportunity, and weve been toying around with the idea for a couple years of: if we got back together, when would be the right scenario, and this music festival right here just kind of seemed like the right time to get back together and do a show and kick the tires and see how it feels, Drew tells us.
Nick had this to say about his earlier tweet: I didnt say we werent going to do it, but there was some speculation about a full tour happening this summer and our fans have been kind of eager to see us get back together.

LOS ANGELES — The animated sequel “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” was the most-wanted movie for audiences, debuting at No. 1 for the weekend with $60.3 million.
Ridley Scott’s “Alien” offshoot “Prometheus” opened strongly in second-place with $51.1 million.
The top 20 movies at U.S. and Canadian theaters Friday through Sunday, followed by distribution studio, gross, number of theater locations, average receipts per location, total gross and number of weeks in release, as compiled Monday by Hollywood.com are:
1. “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted,” Paramount, $60,316,738, 4,258 locations, $14,166 average, $60,316,738, one week.

The inventor of the TV remote, Eugene Polley, died on Sunday at 96.
After his death was announced on Tuesday, the Internet paused — get it? — to remember the man and the wireless television remote control, which ushered in the era of channel surfing and couch potatoes.
Some tributes were humorous. Others were fawning.

In just 3 days Battleship will finally float into theaters, but its premiere actually went down last week and Malin Akerman, the gorgeous star of another big project Rock of Ages looked stunning on the red carpet. A lot of people don’t know this, but Malin used to front a rock band called The Petalstones and is still married to the drummer.
So, did all this time rocking out help prepare her for her duet with Tom Cruise in Rock of Ages? Malin tells us: Not really, this is a little bit different because we recorded the song and then it was on playback while we were shooting on set. W

Late actor Jonathan Frid gave Johnny Depp his blessing to star in a big screen version of his supernatural TV series “Dark Shadows” by sending him a handwritten letter and an autographed photo.
Depp stars in director Tim Burton’s new movie revamp as vampire Barnabas Collins, the cult character made famous by Frid, and the Hollywood hunk reveals he will always treasure the special note he received from the TV veteran giving him his official seal of approval. See Depp as Tonto

First lady Michelle Obama continues to take Hollywood by storm. She’s appeared with David Letterman, Jay Leno and Ellen DeGeneres in recent months — and Saturday she made her first-ever live appearance on Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Obama presented “The Big Help Award” to country pop singer Taylor Swift for Swift’s work helping tornado and flood victims.
“I’m here because I’ve always felt an obligation to give back; to lift up others the way my parents, my teachers and mentors lifted me. And that’s something that our next honoree believes, too,” Obama said at the awards ceremony. Read full article…
