Is that Batman? The trailer for ‘Dark Knight Rises’ has been released, but doesn’t show much.
Does this trailer for ‘Dark Knight Rises’ make you more likely to see it?
Movie-goers who arrived at the theater early to see “Harry Potter” over the weekend got a special treat during the previews: the trailer for the “Dark Knight Rises.”
Not much is revealed about the final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, which hits theaters next summer.
After a montage of an unidentified man journeying around the world, Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) is shown laying in a hospital bed and talking to someone about the rising “evil” in Gotham City.
“Batman has to come back,” he tells the man by his bedside.
“What if he doesn’t exist anymore?” asks the man.
“He must,” whispers Gordon, clinging to an oxygen mask. “He must.”
At the end of the last Batman flick, “The Dark Knight,” the caped crusader (Christian Bale) became a fugitive and Gordon even went as far as to smash the Bat-Signal after taking the public blame for the murder of district attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart).
“The Dark Knight Rises” is expected to hit theaters July 20, 2012.
